This family of six and their two dogs had lived in this Regency Manor house for a decade. Despite its captivating allure, the separate dining room lay underappreciated, its potential untapped. While it exuded an air of grandeur with its opulently draped curtains and adorned walls, the passage of time had rendered it weary and unwelcoming, its true potential remaining dormant.

Reinvigorating an overlooked room

Engaging with my client's vision, we embarked on a transformational journey to reinvigorate this neglected space. The desire was clear: to breathe new life into the overlooked room, transcending its limitations. Envisioning a seamless fusion of spaces, we embarked on a bold transformation by knocking through to the kitchen and merging the old dining room with the adjoining kitchen. The result was an expansive family haven.

Preserving the room's inherent grandeur was paramount. Through meticulous design, we introduced arched doorways, an homage to Regency architecture. This nuanced addition elevated the aesthetic and ushered in abundant natural light, infusing the space with the essence of its grand past. The room is now restored to its Regency splendour!

Harmonious colours

Inspired by the family's love for colour, we selected harmonious blends of soft blues, verdant greens, and sunlit yellow undertones. We curated a palette that resonated with both the interior and the surrounding landscape. Subtle textures and intricate patterns were woven into the design, imbuing the space with freshness and luminosity, seamlessly integrating the outdoors with the indoors.

The room's soaring ceilings presented an opportunity to create a captivating focal point. Refusing the ordinary, we repurposed an antique Regency mirror, concealing within it a modern television. This harmonious juxtaposition of eras not only exuded grandeur but also encapsulated the essence of contemporary living.

A haven of warmth and serenity

This once dismissed and weary room is now a warm and serene sanctuary. Every detail is carefully considered, from hidden storage solutions to modern comforts, paying homage to the refined ethos of Regency design. The space is now a seamless blend of contemporary family living whilst still giving the home its reference to its past!
