The original open floor layout fell short of meeting this family's needs. It exuded weariness and lacked colour. Recognising the importance of accommodating young children, my client yearned for something beyond the usual—a configuration that would transform bath time into a treasured and calm experience.

Integrating a roll-top bath

Throughout the design process, exploring various layout possibilities—the client's desire to integrate a roll-top bath called for a meticulous overhaul. Balancing aesthetics and functionality, I carefully incorporated it into the layout, factoring in the room's existing plumbing while ensuring the floor could take the weight of a roll-top bath once full!

After finalising the chosen layout, we curated tiles that evoke both tranquillity and the enchantment of a starry night. These tiles not only foster a serene ambience but also introduce an element of playful wonder. Precise planning was pivotal, as the stars, varying in size, demanded a seemingly spontaneous arrangement that, in reality, entailed meticulous arrangement. Light ceilings gave the space an airy quality, enhancing its perceived height and overall spaciousness.

Creating cherished memories

Nestled within the eaves, this bathroom was carefully designed to infuse bath time with playful delight while offering visual joy to those who passed by. However, its true significance lies in fulfilling the clients’ heartfelt wish to create cherished memories during those precious family bath times. These memories would endure long after her children had outgrown them.
