In progress: Dorking Area, Surrey—redesigning five key spaces in a 16th Century cottage

Brief: Redesign the Master Bedroom, Spare Room, Family Bathroom, Office, and the Entrance Hall and Landing.

Style: Paying homage to the cottage’s rich history, while modernising its function.

Services: Design concepts and moodboards, bathroom design, lighting and electrical plans, joinery design and installation, and source and supply all FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment).

Located in the enchanting Surrey Hills, this idyllic chocolate-box cottage is adorned with charming quirks. Dating back to 1590, the property demands a delicate touch that would pay homage to its rich history while seamlessly ushering its function into the modern day.

My clients, who have lovingly resided in this historic cottage for over 12 years, have already undertaken admirable efforts to restore and enhance their home. Yet their desire for a more cohesive feel led them to seek my expertise. Unafraid of embracing colour and pattern, my clients have entrusted me with the task of redesigning five key spaces: the Master Bedroom, Spare Room, Family Bathroom, Office, and the Entrance Hallway and Landing.

After delving into my clients' desires and requirements for each space, I am currently immersed in the process of transforming these rooms into personalised sanctuaries that resonate with my clients' unique tastes and preferences. We eagerly anticipate unveiling the completed rooms in the upcoming months.
