A Second Shortlisting For a Major Interior Design Prize!

While enjoying a beach day in Cornwall at the end of July, I was thrilled to receive an email informing me that I had been shortlisted for the Residential Budget Up To £50,000 category in the SBID International Design Awards 2024!

Our second shortlisting for a major interior design prize in 2024.

Representing Interior Design In The UK And Internationally

This year, I joined the SBID (Society of British & International Interior Design) alongside my existing membership of the BIID (British Institute of Interior Design), where I’ve also been shortlisted for the BIID awards

The SBID is well-known as the foremost accrediting body and representative for professional interior design in the UK and internationally. It champions industry excellence and supports professional standards across its network of interior designers, architects, and manufacturers. With a presence in 71 countries, SBID promotes and protects the interior design profession globally. And, among SBID's many initiatives, its prestigious awards program stands out.

Why Enter Another Award?

Our entry for the SBID Awards, the Oxted Mayfair Bar.

The SBID awards aim to recognise, reward, and celebrate design excellence across a wide range of interior sectors. They provide a prestigious platform for showcasing my work and receiving feedback from those who may not have seen it otherwise.

It’s crucial to push the boundaries of your creativity and get your work evaluated by leading experts in the industry for growth as a designer. The public also plays a role in the voting process, so if you haven’t already, please take a moment to vote here!

Completing the Application

Much like the BIID awards process, submitting this project for consideration was a reflective experience. It allowed me to revisit the project's journey from conception to completion, highlighting the meticulous work and creative thought that went into every detail.

The Oxted Mayfair Bar

I’m incredibly proud of the projects I have completed over the last year. From a number of strong candidates, I selected my Oxted Mayfair Bar project for consideration. This project was a profound transformation, not just in design but through its significant impact on my clients' lives.

The Oxted Mayfair Bar.

Choosing which project to put forward was challenging, but the Oxted Project stood out, not least because it required clever design thinking. Our design not only transformed the space aesthetically but also changed how my clients interact with it—whether as a family, a couple, or in large groups. My client has often shared how she simply stands in the room to take it all in, underscoring my passion for how spaces can profoundly enhance our lives.

I look forward to attending the SBID awards ceremony in November when the Global Designer is announced.
